We made suggested wine
pairing for each menu item based on our experience but beyond drinkability, there is
no right or wrong in the selection of any wine.
Wine, like food, is a matter of personal taste. Food and Wine pairing are best made by
evaluating the ingredients in a dish.
Consider how their flavors affect the dish, for instance the acid
content of tomato-based recipes or the hot, spicy flavors of chiles. Cheese, eggs and cream give a dish richness;
grilled foods add smoky characteristics.
Wine responds to food, and
as these flavors and textures change, so should the wine. Each wine has its own specific style and
taste to consider as well. You can’t go
wrong with a good drinkable wine, and experimenting is a pleasure in itself.
As with anything else here
at Katya’s, our staff is here to provide for you. We can assist in choosing a wine that will
pair well with your meal (or choosing a meal to pair with your wine). Please
feel free to ask.
Thank you for your patronage!
